An imageboard is a discussion board with the option to attach a picture alongside your post. Most imageboards these days disable the ability to start a thread with text only making it impossible to leave the first post in a thread imageless. == Imageboard List == * [http://www.achan.us/ /a/channel USA] : Anime Channel USA - the anime Overchan. * [http://www.1chan.net/overchan/ 1chan] :The Overchan index; outdated and not that useful any longer. * [http://www.2ch.net 2ch] : Also known as 2channel. Originally revived from a year-long slumber, it had served as a platform where [[/b/]]tards could seek refuge during the big crash of August 2006, it soon began to develop a life of its own. [[/b/]]tards who were disgusted by the rule enforcements went to 7chan and tried to build their own, new, better [[/b/]] without rules and with enough jailbait and raids for everyone. Of course, they failed miserably. Their own memes (which were mostly made through "Let's make this a meme" threads) were mere shadows of something that might have once been a funny inside joke. While there are still 7chan user who believe their board will surpass [[4chan]]'s [[/b/]] by time, the majority of their posts are either CP threads or troll posts from [[4chan]] users. 7chan[[/b/]]'s 55555th post was a picture that showed 7chan's most embarrassing failures along with the text "7chan - Just die, please". The thread was stickied for a couple of minutes. * [http://www.12chan.org 12chan] : The only thing this chan has to offer is pictures of children, teenage girls/boys and child models. * [http://www.lurkmore.com/chanchan CHANCHAN] : ''Main Article: [[CHANCHAN]]'' * [http://www.chansluts.com/ CHANSLUTS] : ''Main Article: [[CHANSLUTS]]'' * Fchan (dead) : A Futaba-style furry hentai board, created in response to [[4chan]]'s ban on [[Drama|furry]] "art". On June 23 between 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning Fchan reportedly started posting derogatory things about [[4chan]], most notably [[Raptor Jesus]]. The [[/b/]]tards retaliated. It resulted in one of the most awesome board floods [[4chan]] has ever seen. In reality it was a group of [[/b/]]tards themselves who had posted the [[Drama|furry]] pictures, claiming they were from Fchan in order to incite a war, and the rest of [[/b/]] fell for it. No discussion or plan to flood [[/b/]] was ever discussed on Fchan. Seen by [[/b/]]tard furries (a rare breed, but they exist) as crap, mainly because of their very long DNP (Do Not Post) list, which unfortunately includes most of the decent artists on earth (though "decent" and "furry artist" are pretty much mutually exclusive). This leaves Fchan as the imageboard equivalent of a nursery school's art wall from hell. * [http://www.iichan.net/ iiChan] / [http://www.wakachan.org/ WAKAchan] : Also known as IdleChan. One of the first and longest-lasting 4chan imitators, it is best known for having a ludicrous number of boards (123 as of August 2007) dividing into often absurdly specific niche subjects. iiChan is apparently distributed among numerous servers that are operated by different people (rather than a single person in charge of everything as with [[moot]] on 4chan). This sometimes results in dead links between boards and an inconsistent "look" for the site, but has allowed it to usually have at least some of the boards up at any given time. As a result, iiChan has often been a refuge during 4chan's downtimes, which naturally results in the usually much lower-traffic site getting its bandwidth severely raped. In July 2007, iichan's domain registration expired and was snapped up by a squatter. This took nearly a month to resolve, though many of the sub-boards are not actually located on the iichan.net domain and remained "active" (at the minimal levels of posting normal for iiChan) for the duration of the downtime. * [http://mchan.miotd.com/ /m/chan] (dead) : A small imageboard based on 4chan's [[/m/]]. Aside from a mecha-themed hentai board, it's pretty much pointless; the rest of the boards just duplicate /m/'s content. : Dead as of late 2008, when somebody hacked the server it was on and apparently deleted everything. Most of the other sites on the server were restored, but /m/chan wasn't. Few noticed. * not4chan (dead) : As the name implies, it's not [[4chan]]. As a result of various issues (particularly related to donations and ads) generated by the /l/ (lolicon) and /ss/ (shota) boards, those boards were moved off-site to a server not directly affiliated with 4chan. Initially 4chan's list of boards still included them (at the new address), but soon even this link was severed. not4chan is currently down, and it's unclear whether this is due to lack of funding (which has caused previous downtimes) or the admins being [[4chan Party Van|Party V&]]. * [http://shii.org/2ch/ Overchan v.2] : The new and actually useful Overchan index. * renchan (dead) * [http://wtfux.org/ WTFux] : Massive failure, even more so than 7chan. It is populated mostly by trolls who have gotten themselves permanently banned from /b/ (quite an accomplishment, especially since it was for things other than CP) such as the infamous Dash Billions and Soviet Russia. The name is probably related to [[4chan#W|W.T. Snacks]], a prominent 4chan mod at the time of WTFux's creation who was responsible for banning many of the people who went there. It also references "WTF", the acronym for "what the fuck".
