Captain Picard, played by British actor, Patrick Stewart, is a character from the hit television series, "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

Picard often shows up in 4chan threads, most notably in an image of him with his head bowed and a hand over his face (often known as a "facepalm" or "headsigh"). This facepalm image is used to denote disbelief at dumb comments or exasperating things done by another poster as if to say, "Oh God, not this again."
