/o/ - Auto

/o/ is 4chan's imageboard for discussing automobiles, as well as trains, but not really trains.

History

Culture

4chan's Automotive board revolves around Anonymous from other boards asking what car to buy (known colloquially as wat kar iz gud?); occasional pic dumps; poor trolling; actual car discussion flamed as trolling; tripfaggotry; motorcycle threads and fanboi rage.

As with all cultures, there are cliques...

Tripfaggotry

/o/'s history of tripfaggotry is storied. In layman's terms, tripfags are bros; the camaraderie reaching the point where identities are revealed, phone numbers swap hands, and Facebook profiles exchanged. Even the occasional IRL meetup isn't unheard of.

On /o/, tripfags constitute the majority of the regular population. Anonymous are somewhat common, and oftentimes most are new posters or random bypassers asking for advice.

The amount of tripfags increases vastly during the summer, but only few survive over the winter season.

Vandweller- /o/'s only homeless member, orginally he lived in a van. Since then he has moved into a semi truck and begun freight hauling.
NOHOMO/Flapjack- Almost died in a mob scheme. Was not directly involved but lost his boat in the ensuing fire. Status: Currently being rebuilt. Wat racing website creator / owner

Ke7ch- Resident British car whore and ex moderator of /o/, no longer posts.
That Guy With The Terminator/Black Snake Blown- One of the original trolls who can still somehow get Anonymous to ride his internet penis. Estimated I.Q- Corpse
Vtak Yo- Gay Scallion Fur dumper
Thracks- Troll. Noted for trying far, far too hard.
Aerodynamic Pants- oldest oldfag, no description avaliable.
Hakuna Miata- most known for batshit insane ideas that are so insane, they are actually brilliant.
SyTy- MR-2 whore, most known for creating 4book and ruining his MR2. any advice about bodywork from him SHOULD BE IGNORED. also, VERY EASY TO TROLL AND PISS OFF (takes internet too seriously).
Cavalulz- One of two female tripfags, but noted as the "Attractive one" despite having no bazongas.
Mike_Brewer- not sure if troll, engaging in conversation with him will warp your mind, be prepared.
PKGTR- most known for sending a letter to mazda about using a mini wankel to turn a turbo to boost a larger turbo wankel. Mazda relluctantly replied with "STFU"

All tripfags are trolls, all of them bad mouth each other and divide into groups which usually avoid each other.

Moderators

As of late, it has been confirmed that Ke7ch WAS a moderator. His position was cordially declined by himself after becoming "bored". "Banning mad Anons loses its whimsy after a while"- Ke7ch

A suspected moderator is GBawdyMagic.

Raids

With the use of 4book, many tripfags are able to coordinate raids against their own board. These raids server no purpose and usually fail within 5 minuets of starting. However, some raids involving spamming Moot and emailing Jeremy Clarkson have been met with some success.

The original raid, members of 4book emailed Moot of their distaste for the current /o/ moderators.

Post sum trains

A failed raid started by SyTy in his butthurt for being banned. Trains were posted instead of automobiles in accordance with /o/'s description.

Come at me, bro

The most successful raid. Multiple tripfags created their own "come at me bro" pictures and dumped them in one thread.

Memes

Lolcantturn

Refers to understeering. This derogatory term is reserved for American cars stereotypically, although it is improperly associated with any car understeering. The posts containing the term sometimes are followed by a picture of a crashed Mustang.

VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO

Used to be spammed often. It's popularity serves as a common misconception held by posters from other boards about /o/. Originating first from posters ridiculing Honda's VTEC, and popularized by the Virginia Tech Massacre, it is one of the least funny memes on /o/.

WAT Racing

Wat racing development is a meme based off TRD - Toyota racing development

Two tripfags (Nohomo/flapjack & Fc3sfag) decided to show there love of WAT by creating a website which is now defunct.

NOHOMO/Flapjack created the website Watracing.org It housed a live chat where br/o/s could talk to each other and hang out. It offered a very basic project section amongst other things that were never fully developed. The site also offered WAT racing development T-shirts in a limited run, FC3sfag might still have some shirts left, you can find him on /o/ or 4book. There are talks about more being produced along with a limited run of WAT racing vinyl decals.

IRC/VENTfags had an extreme dislike for this and a pseudo-war erupted into a giant dick waving contest which nobody really cared about in the first place.

It was discovered at one point that Ke7ch was a regular on the 4chan Board, /fa/. Numerous screencaps were taken and are occasionally posted by an impostor using the wrong tripcode, at which point, the thread will either die or fill with other impostors and statements of, "I love sex in my ass" and, "Amerifag n Ke7ch 4ever"
